Yolano Veterinary Service began as a large animal mobile practice in 1978 and has been under the same ownership ever since. In 1983 the emphasis began to shift to small animal clinics and the switch was completed in 1988 when the business office moved from Yolano to Georgetown, CA.

Some of our pet vaccination clinics are held in feed and pet stores but the majority are held outdoors at shopping centers and retail businesses. Clinics are repeated at 3 or 4 week intervals. There is always a licensed veterinarian on duty at every clinic.

No appointment is necessary for the vaccinations and owners may simply bring their pets to any clinic location at the advertised time. It is imperative that all dogs wait in the owner's vehicle while the paperwork is completed. When it is time for shots the dog should be brought out of the car on a strong leash with a secure collar. All cats must be in a pet carrier. Cardboard boxes and laundry hampers do not work for cats, but a laundry bag or pillow case is a perfect alternative. Once the vaccinations have been discussed and the certificates hve been completed, the pets are taken to the veterinarian's table for shots.

A tip for owners of nervous cats: If the cat and carrier is left in the vehicle where the cat will not see people and other animals the cat is less likely to be distressed. Also, when bringing the carrier to the vet, it helps to drape a towel over the carrier so the cat can't see what is going on.
